It’s far easier to trust someone who has walked the walk and doesn’t just talk the talk. Brody Fausett knows how to walk! From door-to-door salesperson to retiree at 25, Fausett is on a mission to show you how to live a life of financial freedom.
Live the life of your dreams! Earn money while you sleep!
We’ve all heard and read people preaching this, and it often feels empty. It sometimes feels like the life of your dreams, becoming wealthy, or living an intentional life is for the charmed or an elite few who get lucky, and the people espousing these promises are just snake oil salespeople.
But today, this isn’t the case. You can live the life of your dreams by discovering financial freedom. How? By generating a passive income. And you can do it by investing in real estate. How do we know? Because Brody Fausett is living proof of this – during our interview, Fausett coolly drops in that he, his wife Andrea, and their two daughters have just returned from a month away in the Virgin Islands where they got to have an incredible time. While he was there, money was still streaming into his bank account.
At 29, Fausett is living the dream. He has generated enough wealth to see him through the foreseeable future and has now turned his focus to sharing how he did this with the world. He recently founded Real Estate Investing School, which is an online school dedicated to teaching people to invest in real estate. It’s not your usual online course though. This is an intensive program with a personalized approach. “It’s not just a course or an information model as much as it is a one-on-one coaching program and personalized platform. There’s nothing else out there that exists like this,” he says.
Students who are enrolled in Real Estate Investing School (hyperlink to website) learn practical steps that will lead them towards financial freedom and replacing their active income with passive real estate investing income. Fausett started with less than $6,000 and has been able to turn that into over six figures of passive income. “I actually do and have done what I teach others to do. It is meaningful and gives me credibility that I have become successful while starting from the bottom. Success once, twice, or three times might be attributed to luck. I consistently get results, and I have the skillset to help students define goals and develop strategies for achieving them. I can steer them toward what will work and away from opportunities that won’t get them where they want to go.”
Fausett is quick to point out that while he has worked incredibly hard to get to the financial position he is in, it has not simply been fortuitous. He talks about the need to have intention and to set goals, and that from a young age the life he desired became his intention. “What I’ve been able to build in my 20s has set me up for the rest of my life,” he says. “I’m passionate about that and ultimately creating passive income, but also intentionally building the life that you want, and intentionally going after that.”
With humble beginnings, Fausett began his career as a door-to-door salesperson selling alarm systems. He describes his door-to-door sales days as “super challenging” and “one of the hardest things I’ve done.” Yet he also ascribes the time as a formative one that allowed him to see the world of sales and success in a different light. “You have to shift your mentality around success. In life, if we think of a 1% success rate we think we’re failing and say things like ‘This is horrible’ and ‘I’m terrible.’ But in sales, a 1% success rate means you’re making over six figures within a few months. You’ve got to get past that mental challenge of getting rejected 99 times out of 100, but still believing you’re successful. Once you can learn not to take things personally and to keep on going despite rejection, you can see success. The problem is most people give up before that happens.”
You might think that being financially comfortable and living the life of dreams may mean that he is slowing down. The opposite is true. He is goal-oriented and focused on his quest to serve others and share what he has learned. He is strict on himself, self-disciplined, and loves to push himself athletically. “I have to take care of myself and live my best life in order to take care of other people and help them do the same. I find it very fulfilling to impact others and help them become fulfilled,” says Fausett, His aim is to help people fulfil their money goals and in so doing, help them to create a life of freedom and fulfillment by learning how to invest in passive real estate income streams.
“Every single morning I do an exercise I call ‘Top 10,’” he says. “I write the top 10 goals I want to accomplish within the next 12 months. Each morning, you write it down and then you erase it and then do it again the next morning. You want to get it to the point where you know it without looking back.” He believes the more clear you can be on what you want, the greater chance you have of accomplishing it. “I’m huge on writing my goals down every single day. It’s the first step I take in putting a dream, which is just in my head, into words on paper. That’s the start of it becoming real. From there I can enter the next phase, which is building and implementing it, and ultimately it becomes a reality and a part of the life I live.”
Fausett is a young man with a world of wisdom to offer. He’s a bright new voice in the real estate and passive income landscape, and the knowledge he shares is not only something he speaks about passionately but something he lives in his own life on a day to day basis.
