The way you tell your story determines who you become, so entrepreneur and master motivator, Jeremiah Evans, is telling a tale of victory and triumph in his new book Alpha Hero and, through his story, will inspire you to do the same
Interviewing Jeremiah Evans is like being in a stadium with thousands of people. He is a young man with a large energy and presence, and he speaks with fervor. The more he speaks, the more passionate he becomes as he orates with confidence about his life and the wisdom he has to share with the world.
Evans, who is fondly known as ‘The Bull,’ is an entrepreneur, sales coach and master motivator. While he may be young in years – Evans is 26 years old – he is wise beyond these. He speaks with clarity and a drive to make a change in the world. He strives to have an impact on the people he works with and gets to speak to. His mission is to have an impact on millions of people in his lifetime.
He is the founder of Alpha Financial Agency, a financial consulting agency that teaches a specific investment strategy called the ‘Tri-force of Wealth.’ The company has generated over $50-million in sales, with Evans helping hundreds of people to build six-figure businesses. “I use the Tri-force of Wealth to teach people to create wealth,” he says. It consists of three things: own as many businesses as possible, invest in real estate, and protect your wealth with tax-free protection in the form of life insurance. “Every rich person I’ve ever met has real estate, businesses and they back it all with life insurance. This creates the cycle of growth and of leverage,” asserts Evans.
Evans is particularly passionate about coaching and mentoring young entrepreneurs to follow the path he did. He believes that the fundamental aspect of being a successful business owner is to learn the skills of sales. “If you’re good at sales, you can make six figures for the rest of your life,” he says. “If you own a business, become skilled at sales and work hard, there’s no limit to how much you can make. My theory is the easiest business to start is a sales and marketing company where you go to other companies and sell their product for them. You generate leads, you sell their product, and they pay you a commission. I’ve done it multiple times – I just sell someone else’s goods for them. Suddenly, I’m making six figures.” He believes that sales is essentially about problem-solving and is a vital tool for any entrepreneur to succeed.
From a young age, Evans has lived by the mantra, ‘Be great or be nothing.’ Instilled in him from an early age by his father, Evans is now choosing to share his story with the world. Later this year he will be releasing his first book Alpha Hero, in which he shares aspects of his life that have made him who he is and can help readers to transform into more successful, braver versions of themselves. “Alpha Hero is my story, but it’s also about how most of us feel alone, helpless, or taken advantage of in some form or fashion. But everyone can become the hero of their own story. You should be someone who is going to make a difference in this world and not someone who’s just going to try and get by,” he explains.
It is apt that Evans is publishing his story – he is a firm believer that stories have power. “Your story is what dictates the outcome of your life,” he says. “If you look back at moments in your life, there are a lot of different ways to tell that story. You can tell the same story from multiple perspectives. You can even tell a story from a ‘victim’ perspective.”
He recounts a story from his own life about the severe bullying he encountered as a child. Evans was known as ‘the fat bull’ by his peers at school, and daily he would be sought out and beaten up. He was depressed and terrified. His father noticed what was happening and told him he needed to be great or be nothing. “He told me I have to be the hero of my own story, and that no one is coming to save me.” Inspired by his father, Evans stood his ground with his bullies and fought back. He believes that this was a pivotal moment in his life and that his father’s words at that moment were instrumental in shaping the man he has become today.
“I used to tell myself that story as the victim. That I was the one taken advantage of. But then I started to look back at it and began telling myself a different story,” he says with determination. “I looked at the moments where I was a victor, where I did stand up, where I actually changed my life. I know so many people who look at their story and the things they have suffered through and tell the story as if they are weak and beaten. In reality, you’re sitting here telling me the story of all the shit you’ve gone through, and you’re still alive! You’ve pushed through it. That means you’re a champion!”
Besides being the inspiration for his book, Evans also makes storytelling the focus of his podcast, The Bullpen. He interviews people who have stood up for a cause they believe in, made a difference, or are fighting for something. The first question he asks each guest is, “What’s your story?” It’s his favourite question. In fact, it is the first question he asked his wife when he met her. “I don’t like small talk,” he says matter-of-factly. “When you ask people what their story is, you’re asking them about where they have come from and what they have been through. Why are they here? What is their mission? You ask them why they do what they do and how they have done what they’ve done. The idea behind The Bullpen is to learn and to understand more about what it takes to become that person.”
Evans is a master storyteller and his new book is sure to inspire and motivate. He may be a big man with a big voice, but Evans has a simple goal in his work and in his new book Alpha Hero – to help people become someone who can make a difference.
