Sergio Ramos has only played a total of 175 minutes for Paris Saint-Germain this season. That’s all the time it took for him to collect his first red card with his new club.
The Spaniard came on as a halftime substitute in the disappointing 1-1 draw against relegation candidate Lorient in Ligue 1, and he didn’t even last the full second half.
Known for his use of the dark arts on the field, the veteran Ramos picked up a first yellow card in the 81st minute, and just four minutes later he saw red for knocking down Terem Moffi. The Lorient attacker absolutely took Ramos to school with a brilliant one-on-one move, and the Spaniard had no choice but to throw his backside out and bundle Moffi to the ground.

Ramos knew exactly what he was doing, and he paid the price.
The match would eventually finish in a 1-1 draw, with Mauro Icardi scoring a last-gasp equalizer for PSG to avoid further embarrassment in what was an otherwise uninspiring match from the French giants.
Ramos was sent off 26 times in his 16-season career with Real Madrid prior to his summer move to the French capital.
The 35-year-old had only made one appearance for PSG prior to this week due to a calf problem that left him sidelined for the first three months of the season. He went 45 minutes in Sunday’s French Cup win before coming on against Lorient on Wednesday for this third appearance.

He’ll be suspended for the first Ligue 1 match of the new year against Lyon on January 9, but it’s a series in February that fans will care most to see him ready to play. The Spaniard is gearing up to face the club he once captained, with PSG drawn against Real Madrid in the Champions League. That two-legged matchup is scheduled to being on February 15 in Paris, with Ramos returning to Madrid for the second leg on March 9.
Before the memorable moments that are sure to come in the Champions League, social media, as you can imagine, had a field day with the red card at Lorient:
Sergio Ramos did again today… king of red cards 😂 my goat 🐐

When they build the Sergio Ramos statue, it should either be of him sneering at a fallen forward or him disgusted at being carded.
