We launched Private Episode Sharing to offer our users maximum publishing flexibility and the chance to develop their podcast business model. Following the release, we received several requests from our podcasters to extend the feature to whole shows which is why we are excited to announce the arrival of Private Podcast Sharing!
Why is this great for you?
Private Episode Sharing allows users to offer exclusive content to loyal listeners or create paywall episodes in exchange for a service. Private Podcast Sharing instead allows podcasters to take this to the next level and create a fully functioning business from their podcast by introducing two new visibility options for your podcasts: Private and Limited Access. The really great part is that limited access podcasts are available to your listeners on both mobile and web devices, making it ideal for remote distribution.
Monetize Your Premium Content
Now, instead of needing to manage the administration of individual episodes sales, podcasters can sell complete courses, releasing different seasons for different course levels. For example, say you’re a language teacher, series 1, could be your intro course, selling a course of 10 episodes, series 2 would be for beginners and so on – each one with its own price model. It’s a clear, simple way for you to use podcasting to sell your product.
Connect With Your Staff
Another way you could use this feature is if you wanted to share sensitive information within your business. A private company podcast is an easy way of keeping staff informed of business changes and need-to-know info, while making sure it always stays internal.
Thank Your Listeners
If you’ve got some listeners who you want to thank for their continued support, why not share with them an exclusive podcast? It’s a really simple way to make them feel extra special. You could even add an embedded player with the podcast to a page where you control the access – don’t forget our player is supported by loads of platforms including Patreon and Change.org.
Archive Your Best Work
If you have a podcast which you don’t want to share publicly, we’ll keep it safe for you. Store a podcast on Spreaker for your own personal archive – you can revisit it and make it public whenever you want!
Start using Private Podcast Sharing
Private Podcast Sharing is available to all Broadcaster Plans and above. Free and On-Air Talent users will need to upgrade to access the feature.
To access your private podcast link, you’ll find the URL via your CMS. From the CMS, choose the podcast you want to share privately and select it. In the podcast’s settings you’ll be able to edit its ‘Visibility’, changing it to ‘Limited Access’ and then a new link will appear which you can copy and paste anywhere.
