The year is 2024, yet sex remains a taboo topic in society—Why? Revered sex and relationship coach Kim Anami says “it’s deliberate.” She believes that the suppression of sexuality, which happens all over the world, is a way to hinder people from tapping into their true life force power.

“People literally have the healing power of the universe at their fingertips. But because of all of the programming, the censorship and the taboo around sex, they can be terrified to even touch themselves. They’re afraid of their own bodies,” she says.

When this happens, and you successfully remove that power from someone so they are not in touch with their sexual energy, “every other part of their life gets sucked into this vortex of decay.” On the other hand, when you are in touch with this energy, Anami says it “revitalizes every other element of your life.”

“Sexual energy is creative, reproductive, procreative energy. If we separate out any moral construct or judgment, we can consciously learn to use this energy for our betterment,” she says.

Known as the viral “vagina weight lifter,” Anami is famous for using humor and wit to make these taboo topics more mainstream, sharing the power of sex to awaken, transform and accelerate one’s journey of self-actualization.

Her video: “10 Reasons to Lift Weights with Your Vagina,” went viral in 2014, and the year after, she put out an Instagram project called #thingsIliftwithmyvagina, which involved her traveling around the world and lifting objects indigenous to various regions with her vagina to show people what vaginas can really do.

“I love coming up with playful ideas and ways to communicate messages around sex. And I think that’s a big part of my appeal. I’m very playful and irreverent and even outrageous,” she laughs.

In all seriousness, Anami’s work is helping both men and women heal and transform their lives.  “What I’ve seen in my work is that people can heal themselves of different ailments, whether it’s reproductive, being overweight, various kinds of diseases that they have, just by getting in touch with this life force energy and using it as a revitalizing and healing therapeutic tool in their lives,” she continues.

Her unique approach to coaching combines over two decades of experience in Tantra, Taoism, Osho, Transpersonal psychology, philosophy and a host of quantum growth-accelerating practices to propel her clients into higher levels of connection, intimacy, energy and creativity—because at the end of the day, it’s all connected. “When that part of our lives is really flourishing, it will add juice and energy into everything else that we do,” she affirms.

For her, sex has always been a tool for personal growth. She would have these “cataclysmic sexual experiences” and walk out feeling like she was more of her true self. “I was this centered, self realized, very grounded version of the best of who I am,” she says.

When Anami began doing this work, she naturally drew on all of these ideologies from different holistic genres of getting to the root cause, and the concept of using sex as a vehicle for self realization.

“I just put all of that stuff together, which was an extension of what I already do in my daily life, and that became my body of work.”

The widespread impact of Anami’s teachings speaks volumes, resonating with individuals from all walks of life. For her, it’s all about “holding people to the fire, believing in them, and not letting them wriggle out and make excuses,” she continues.

“Like I said, I don’t allow bandaids. I’ve never given a client Viagra. I don’t even let my female clients use lube because I believe that everyone can get to these places naturally, no matter what age or what stage they are at in their lives. I’m so firm in my belief and my encouragement with them.”

Drawing a parallel to working with a personal trainer who stands next to you and watches every rep you do, Anami says working with her is like working with a relentless coach who refuses to let you settle for anything less than your fullest potential. She works with her clients through various online programs that she calls “salons.”

“These eight to ten week programs take place virtually. People can participate from their homes and beds from all over the world,” she explains. Anami offers courses including: “Vaginal Kung Fu, Coming Together for Couples, How to be a Well F*cked Woman, Sexual Mastery for Men, and Sexy Mama, which is a holistic pregnancy and orgasmic ecstatic birth class.

These programs allow people the opportunity to go deeper and explore different techniques and practices that have the power to heal and rejuvenate their lives. “We are our own healers,” says Anami. “We can find that healing energy and potential literally at our fingertips, at our genitals. And when we learn how to tap into that energy, we can do anything.”

In the face of societal pressures, Anami has emerged as a symbol of power, encouraging individuals to reclaim autonomy over their bodies and desires. To learn more or sign up for one of her salons, visit Kim Anami’s website today.
