The up-and-coming brand CFCL, which is gaining popularity for its unique forms and colors centering on knitwear, has opened its first physical store and flagship store CFCL OMOTESANDO at GYRE in Omotesando, Tokyo on October 19th designed by MMA Inc.
CFCL, which stands for Clothing For Contemporary Life, was launched in 2020 by Yusuke Takahashi. With 3D computer knitting technology at its core, the garments are timeless, while at the same time pursuing functionality, consideration for the environment, selection of domestic Japanese materials and transparency of the supply chain.
This concept shop, which is the brand’s first physical store was designed by Tokyo-based design office MMA Architecture. which conducted design from concept to planning. Inside, the store fixtures are neatly lined up and the design by Swiss architect Fritz Haller, who has been loved all over the world for his authentic beauty for over 50 years, reflects the brand’s philosophy. The space is composed of minimal and massive shapes by combining delicate textures.
The space was designed to be open and the layout can be changed freely, giving the store a sense of change and development. It is a space where visitors can experience CFCL, which evolves over time.
